GOP Meltdown 2012: Mapping Racist Tweets from the Presidential Election

Data-mapping experts from the Floating Sheep blog mapped geo-located Tweets containing racist language during the build-up to the US election. I’m sure the results will shock you. Concentrated racism in the South? No way! As a resident of Georgia and having watched the campaign as it affected my neighbors, my only surprise is that Georgia wasn’t #1. I guess that’s part of what makes Alabama and Mississippi such magical places! Click here for details and methodology behind this image.

I like this post. Keep exposing them.

I have looked though the posts, and the racism I have seen is terrible. There are some very ignorant and cruel people out there. But, I want to know if people reading this page believe that this represents all members of the republican party. There is no doubt in my mind that there are racist idiots out there, but do you believe that all republicans are this way? I, myself, am quite socially liberal, but I found myself supporting Mitt Romney because of his business background and the state of the economy. I have never seen african americans or any other group to be any less than me, but I supported the republican party in the 2012 election. Does this mean you believe me to be racist?

Oh, it undoubtedly represents the Republican party. See, anyone raised in a Republican family knows that when the uncles get together and start talking about politics, the main thing that comes up is how much they hate non-white people. It’s just unreasonable to claim otherwise when absolutely everyone raised in a right-wing house has at least a couple of virulently racist family members that are Republicans. It runs about 60% of the party, if not more.

  3. Hi there to every body, it’s my first pay a visit of this web site; this weblog consists of awesome and truly fine data designed for readers.

  4. Jim says:

Tabitha, the person that runs this site obviously has too much time on their hands and needs a girl/boyfriend and a puppy to feed. I wouldn’t take anything to heart on this site. I believe it is all fabricated and faked to make the GOP look bad. Let me ask you, when is the last time you’ve seen someone walking around in white sheets? You and I would have the same answer. This guy that runs this site, he would be out in the desert…thirsty, and instead of seeing a mirage of water or a gas station, he would see a KKK rally. I went to @QueenOfFlop’s twitter page, and at the top of their page it says “I survived my public meltdown”. Ironically the title for this post is GOP Meltdown 2012… Go figure..

  5. Spot on with this write-up, I seriously believe that this website needs much more attention.
I’ll probably be returning to read through more, thanks for the info!

  6. Mom says:

This is crap! Half these rant about race! And we already had democrat KKK in America, and your surprised that when dems run a black man they switched? Lmao…duh, you dems knew that, and knew you could try and use it to say it was republicans who are racist! But the democrats in OFFICE still say the most racist things!
I give this a thumbs down and fat zero!
