Laura Loomer Called Five Black Women "Ghetto." Asked to Explain, She Said "I Spoke the Truth."

She doesn't hold office. She doesn't need to. She has the President's ear, a White House visit on her résumé, and a party that has decided she isn't its problem.

Pen-and-ink editorial cartoon: a pile of crumpled insulting posts spills out of a White House door tagged White House Guest, while a Republican elephant in a suit turns away holding a sign reading Not Ours.

A note on the file first. This roll call is about Republicans: officials, candidates, the party. Laura Loomer is none of those on paper. She's a far-right activist. She's here anyway, because Donald Trump has publicly praised her and met with her at the White House, and because a Republican member of Congress looked at what she wrote and said the party owns it. We'll take her word for it.

I. THE POSTS

Angie Nixon is a state representative from Jacksonville and Florida's Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, running against Republican Sen. Ashley Moody in November. She had opposed resolutions honoring Charlie Kirk. That was enough.

On Friday, August 28, Loomer posted a video on X naming Nixon, Reps. Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley, former Rep. Cori Bush and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Five Black women: two members of Congress, a former member, a Senate nominee and a sitting Justice of the Supreme Court. Her description of all five, as theGrio printed it:

"ghetto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive Black b—hes"

No dogwhistle needed here.

It got worse from there. In the back-and-forth with Nixon, Loomer reached for "Ebonics," and suggested she might need to bark at Nixon and tug her leash to make herself understood. A leash. For a Black woman who is a sitting state legislator and a Senate nominee. There's no reading of that one that needs a decoder ring.

II. THE DEFENSE

The clarification managed to be worse than the original. By Sunday, Loomer was standing by every word:

"Is she ghetto? Yes. Is she black? Yes. Is she a communist. Yes. I spoke the truth"

And: "Why can't I call her what she is?"

Look at the middle question. "Is she black? Yes." That's in the list of charges. Loomer read it out alongside "communist," as one more count in the indictment, and then called the whole thing the truth. Somebody get this woman a shovel, she's not done digging.

Nixon's answer was better than the attack deserved: "When referring to me, it's Representative Angie Nixon. However after November 3rd, YOU CAN CALL ME SENATOR!"

III. WHO OWNS HER

Here's the twist. The loudest Republican condemnation came from Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene said she "1000 percent" denounced the comments as racist, and then said the part nobody else in the party would: "the Republican Party and President Trump owns Laura Loomer and her nonstop vitriol." She added that Loomer has spent her time "whisper[ing] nonstop insanity in the President's ear."

When Marjorie Taylor Greene is the conscience of the room, check the room.

Greene is right about one thing, though, and it's the reason this post exists. The party gets to decide who is and isn't one of theirs. Loomer has been praised by the President and welcomed at the White House. This isn't her first time, either: in 2025 she ran a similar attack on Rep. Jasmine Crockett. Nothing about her access changed then, and there's no sign it will now.

A month before the Vice President told the convention he was tired of being called racist for "noticing," here was the unfiltered version of noticing, from someone with a standing invitation to the building he works in.

They'll say she's not an official. She's not. She's the friend they keep inviting back. The tent is only as big as the people they'll let stand in it, and they keep making room for her.
